The Rat Factory

The Rat Factory is a music project composed and produced by Peter Phillip Aradi, released on July 27, 2019.

Initial ideas and drafts for individual tracks, melodies, and the overall atmospheric design began as early as 2015 – along with many of the central themes that run throughout the entire work. The bulk of the production took place from early 2018 to mid-2019, though work on the project also continued in 2016 and 2017.

Thematically, the work critically examines human existence and the depths of its psyche. It places the often undifferentiated way humans think, the consequent formation of opinions and judgments about other individuals, and the tendency to view humanity as a superior species at its center.

In this context, the project devotes itself to the abyss of human existence. What appears inferior and dirty merely reflects one’s own psyche. Undifferentiated thought patterns that rush to judge and categorize are exposed as human arrogance.
